People shouldn't believe stuff just because it is printed or broadcast. They need to evaluate carefully the source and chain of transmission for all information that they receive.

Back in the day, I worked at a company that had some of the early laser typesetting machines. You got much greater impact by presenting your document in well-formatted laser-printed Times Roman than others did with mimeographed typewritten Courier.

I think that one of the reasons people believe in religion is that it is nicely printed on fine paper in leather bound volumes. Therefore it must be true.
