I go to dealerships to teach salesmen, mainly Toyota. This was your salesmans fault because he did not disclose it. Because he did not want to battle you in case it became an objection. Also every good salesman should point out the monroney sticker to the customer.

Less weight helps them out on fleet fuel mileage -- regulations are making new cars very undesirable

My 1991 Volvo 240 has a spare tire, jack, a mini toolkit, gloves, and 2 places to store the spare.
