white nationalist like the overwhelmingly male Freedom Caucus -- but separate and come for battle. The rhetoric's all anti-Democratic now, but!
Setting: An increasingly fascistic Republican Party that, like all RW authoritarian movements, is inimical to women's rights. They've been running women out of power, cutting their women members in the house in half in 2018 (to 13!).
The GOP congress has become such a hostile workplace for women that some of the 13 house survivors angrily spoke out and refused to run for reelection for that reason. That was an emergency for a party caught with its dick out in its war on women, and McConnell and McCarthy had to tuck them back in long enough to rustle up some women to run for office.
These freshmen may be some of those or possibly survivors of battles with local GOP powers. Just how this plays out will be interesting. Can McConnell and McCarthy make caucuses packed with corrupt authoritarian white males act like kinder and gentler conservatives toward yet more castrating females invading their territory? Everyone angry these days? Presumably there'll be a show of unity to begin...
And then of course there's also the issue of whether even more very noisy RW extremists is really what the party needs. Having been shown by "the squad" how effective, and effectively free, Twitter exchanges are for getting attention, they promise a whole session of their own Twitter Slurpy-slingings.
