I am assuming two things.

Part of that surge is catch up reporting from lagging behind over the holidays. There is a real deep lull in the numbers over the holiday (which isn't real) so the paperwork is catching up. That's why I try to pay attention to the running average more than the individual days.

Second, a peak transmission in week 4 of December would translate to peak testing week 1 of January.

The real tell will be whether the cases peak this over the next week. If they don't, I will be way off.
