My town’s daily testing infection rate is between 30-50% and no personnel to do tracing. No random testing is done in the open grade schools.
Adding to the above, are the mutation variants. We are clueless at this time.
In short, we are a raging pine forest fire to use as an analogy. We need to clear a wide swath to contain the damage.
A 4 week lock down is the large swath.
During the 4 week shutdown, widespread testing & tracing programs need to be created and operational and must include PPE, testing equipment, quick response labs, personnel for all aspects, a management flow chart & several reporting mechanisms (personal reporting apps, data driven reporting dashboards gps data etc).
Reporting vaccination response testing ability put in place. We must track how the vaccination reacts.
This is a doable project with a lot of moving parts and a plethora of outcomes; however, it’s very doable.
I would like to see isolation centers like hotels set aside to reduce infecting entire families.
The lower the number of infections, the slower the mutation rate. We don’t want to reach the uncontrollable mutation level.
Perhaps a new department in each town & city government centers manned my public health professionals is required fir this and future pandemics.
My state does not have a nurse in each school. One nurse covers a wide swath of schools and thousands of students. Pandemics require a larger investment for school nurses.
