(21,417 posts)There are two pharmacies in my area that I know of who give shots when they have any vaccine. I only discovered by accident that they gave shots. No public info on it.
I have tried both pharmacies every day for two weeks, early morning and throughout the day, both online and on the phone since one of them says they also do phone appts. Every time the message is the same - all available appointments taken; they don't know when or if there will be more vaccine; please continue checking.
My primary care office applied to be a vaccination giver. It's a huge med practice throughout the county. My NP said they have not received onfo on approval yet but think they MIGHT have some vaccine by April, so they put me on a waiting list.
At this rate, it looks like the only protection I will ever get from covid is masks, distancing, and hand washing. As far as I can see, there is no vaccine coordination and planning in NY state. Trying to get vaccinated is like checking to see if your lottery ticket is a winner.
