29. My parents had to buy new cars (passing the depreciation out of their pocket)

Feb 2021

My uncle's car was not that good to begin with (which was why he'd borrowed my father's for the weekend). My dad passed his car along to his brother.

My dad had a friend who owned a Ford dealership. He bought a mid-level (Granada?) for himself as a compact (Campri?) for my mom.

It wasn't the save. My mother had loved that little car of hers; it was the first new car she'd owned.

For the rest of her life, if the TV started playing Ike & Tina, she'd change the channel, or leave the room.
