My father did a cord of firewood less than 24 hours of dying from cancer. He never told anyone -- family or doctor -- that he knew he was dying. But he did make notes that he left us in his financial paperwork. My oldest brother died alone in January. He had told his daughter some curious things about not fearing death a few days earlier, but didn't say he wasn't feeling well. And my other brother was brought into emergency surgery in February, after his wife finally got him to an ER. They were all stubborn men.
