My daughter is a Speaker Pelosi-appointed CA delegate who has a speech disability (and is quadriplegic) as a result of cerebral palsy, and while she doesn't actually have an intellectual disability, she was called that word growing up, and it was painful until she eventually realized (as she became more involved in the disability rights movement) that the kids calling her that were the ones with the problem. She's a disability activist and former chair of the CA State Council on Developmental Disabilities, and the people she has represented/advocated for include many with intellectual disabilities. Using that word to insult someone else is also insulting (and very hurtful) toward these people it originally targeted (and continues to target).


Tucker Carlson is a repugnant human being.... so please just call him that.
