It stands for North American Man/Boy Love Association. I just googled it in an incognito tab (because I don't want that shit in my search history) to make sure I was remembering the name correctly, so I can report that it still seems to be around, and yes, it's just as gross as it sounds. Your recollection of their aims was quite accurate.
