... the design, intent, and purpose was to overthrow a fairly and legally elected government,.. nullify that government by force,... and then install their unelected leader and his brand of government of their preference and choice.

This was a COUP D'ETAT, the kind more commonly seen in third world banana republics.

This was done to nullify the electoral results of a functional democracy because they preferred a more Fascistic result.

Nazis can not be allowed to by force to be permitted to make democracy be restricted only to seats in the back of the bus while fascists hijack the very same bus and proceed to drive it at full speed off the nearest cliff.

Fully functional democracies have safeguards to stop rampant fascism and their fevered dreams of political supremacy. We at our own peril green light their intent to trash democracy if severe consequences are not imposed against them for attempts to take over and trash a fairly elected government by mob threats, mayhem, chaos, and force.
