(24,406 posts)and the vote-splitting between four major candidates and an amazingly high (and IMHO unfair) dislike of HRC by the far left, but as far as we still know, the EC numbers were sound and, despite our massive disappointment, Obama/Biden cooperated and completed a peaceful transition to Trump and tried to leave Trump in the best possible situation before they left and there weren't any violent uprisings during the Electoral Vote counting. I still have my doubts about Election 2000 as well but that election was definitely closer and more hotly contested, particularly since SCOTUS became involved in it. But again, despite the right-wing smears to the contrary, Clinton/Gore transitioned the office over to GWB who, like Trump after him, proceeded to take a dump all over the office and the country. At least Trump was denied another term to continue his own unique brand of harm to this country.
