He's always been a poser and a fake and a close friend of upscale academic racists like Charles Murray.

But it's so hard to get people to listen to us, because he played into the narrative of what both Republicans AND snobby urban liberals want to believe about Appalachia. They don't want to hear about the leftist labor history here, or the Black and Native people here, or the LGBTQ+ people here or the environmental fights.
