Nancy Pelosi's backbone is forged in steel. She is tough when she needs to be and doesn't suffer fools gladly. I would have to say that there's not one person on either side of the aisle who does not (even secretly) respect her. She has extraordinary grasp on working the levers of power and has never kowtowed to anyone.
