..you have to know a birthdate or other identifying info (besides a name) to get the person's voter registration. It's usually birthdate and employers would have that so could probably snoop on each employee to see what party they're in then fire all their Dems (esp in so-called "right to work" states). That would put a dent in their production and cost them $$ in increased turnover and hiring. They can't really do it on a large scale without hurting themselves, too. That's why I think they're just trying to bully people. Their threats are AFAIK pretty toothless - a lot of chest-beating.

Solution? Well...there's 'unaffiliated' or "independent" voter registration status. That gives them NO clue.
