It’s already been more than enough, and in some ways quite sickening frankly. To be fair though, there has been some well crafted, thoughtful journalism that put the whole of 9/11 in a global, humankind context this past week. Nevertheless, at almost the very same time that the Robert E. Lee statue came down in Roanoke, it is striking to sense American imperialism being celebrated in much of the mainstream coverage.
