(8,103 posts)I couldn't care less whether you get it or not. It is plain from reading many other comments from other DUers that the fact that a young woman has probably died a senseless death at the hands of an alleged loved one means less than the agenda of doing something about the lack of attention on missing young women of color. It is always something like that on DU that turns my stomach. It is my contention that ALL people matter, and not just BLM, or other races, or sexes, or nationalities. Humans matter. Living beings matter.
It is a shame that anything has to be said at all. This woman could have been brown-haired, brown-eyed, and still complaints would roll forth about how others get ignored, and just because this woman is White. It is racist. But, I'd rather talk to you in another manner less contentious. And, you were the one who said, "Good..." So, now that her body has probably been found, you can drop the concern and turn your attention, and presumably our attention, back on POC who are missing. Even though color really wasn't the reason that the nation was interested in this particular case, because elements of this case are sensationalized without it having anything to do with her effing COLOR.
I just want to assure you, that if you go missing, I will look for you just as hard as I can, even though you may not match my color. That was part of your own little lecture to the nation and readers at DU, about how YOU feel. At some point, we will all agree that color doesn't matter. But, it won't be because you and I are arguing here.
