I have trouble envisioning any possible positive reward for the Committee considering tRump's life-long record with depositions and public statements - that is, he always manages to deceive, distort and deflect any responsibility away from himself. Essentially, he would say "all I did was give a speech at a public rally and then go home".

The potential risks are...
* the national and international press with their thirst for sensationalism would cover such an event 24/7 for days, thereby putting TFG back in the spotlight with free press time.
* the right-wing public and social media machine would spin the event into a massive pity pot campaign event, showing it as revenge and punishment against their dear god-figure leader.Their spin programming would go on for at least a month.
* I strongly suspect the MAGA crowd along with the accompanying press hoard would create a huge public problem with a mass protest during such an event - something our fight against COVID and Washington, DC does not need. Violence would almost be guaranteed.

Could this be achieved through a closed sworn deposition, perhaps before a federal judge? Testimony could be released to the public, forcing MAGATs to READ something.
