I am sorry it has come to this. I have a Music Ed degree but my path took me elsewhere and I never did teach, just the student teaching part that was quite enjoyable. I have always had so much respect for teachers. *music has suffered under this as well, many of the kids coming out of our public schools now are tragically behind. It is stunning the difference every year.

The education my kids had was nothing like what I had. It was lacking in so many ways and I was thankful that their father and I could add to what seemed to be lacking. I worry that this is just the tip of the iceberg as this trend continues. Many parents are now too busy trying to keep the family stable and secure within the system we are living in. They hardly have the time to spend much time talking about more than what tomorrow will bring that they have to navigate.

As they say in other situations, thank you for your service. Teachers, and librarians are my heroes.
