with my hair stylist last spring. I’m older than him so, when I was vaccinated he wasn’t yet eligible. But he was eligible the day I came in for my appointment. He has been my stylist for twenty years, and I know him to be a thoughtful, reasonable, responsible man, so when I asked if he was vaccinated yet and he said he wasn’t comfortable with it yet, I knew that response was not coming from a knee-jerk political response. He had legitimate apprehensions. So I asked him to tell me what his apprehensions were, I shared my experience with being vaccinated, he asked me a lot of questions, and we left it at that. When I left, he hugged me and said, “It was really, REALLY good talking to you today.”

When I came back a month later, he was vaccinated. Last month when I went in, he went on a tirade about “Why don’t these people just get the damn shot! It’s so selfish!” Than he started laughing and said, “I’ll bet you can’t believe I’m saying this.” I believed it. He just needed an open ear and honest conversation to convince him.
