Between debt traps, unequal education opportunities, and wage stagnation; its harder than ever to pull yourself up. The rich have stacked the deck to keep the current economic strata in place, and preserve their place at the top.
Those who were at the bottom when the ladder was removed are trapped there. Due to past racial inequalities, those at the top tend to be white, and those at the bottom tend to be not.
Finishing removing the social aspect of racism still will not fix the economic inequality that exists. However resolving the latter will help the former fade away.
