Depending on the program your wife's phone uses, there should be a "block sender" option. I use Signal, and if you tap the message, then tap the number the message is coming from, the sender profile comes up. The "block" option is down at the very bottom of the profile. Tap it, and your wife should be unbothered by the asshole, at least as far as texting is concerned.
