(54,302 posts)35. A Canadian friend of mine was in their foreign service for decades
I met him while he was their ambassador to the USA, so he knows the USA well. He retired when his uncle stepped down as PM. He was horrified at the fact that Trump was allowed to occupy the White House at all, and even more so at what Trump did once he got there.
He served under democracies and dictatorships. He knows the difference.
