I think it better to strike strung out convoys that are supplying ammo and fuel as well as any other troop-carrying vehicles. This could be done with hit and run tactics and smaller type portable weapons. This type of attack is harder to defend against. Any missile or long-range artillery attack would be identified and attacked at its source.
