13. Here's the disgusting part in all this

Massive numbers of Republicans are leaving California because guns/abortion/Judy Blume books in the libraries/whatever. A very high number are winding up in this county. As a result, we’ve got one elected Democrat in the whole county. The Republican primary usually features three candidates: someone from either the Reagan Republicans or the Pachyderm Club, someone from the Idaho Freedom Foundation, and someone from the John Birch Society. The Birchers haven’t made significant inroads because they’ve only been running candidates in the last couple of elections, but give them time.

In Kootenai County the Republicans don’t have to cheat to win, but they do it anyway.
