You don't get a mulligan on spousal abuse in your 60s as long as you visit a war zone.
I'm sure Roman Polanski donates to charities too. It doesn't mean we get to make a hero out of him because all that bad stuff is "in the past and I'm sure he probably paid for it sometime."
BTW he didn't serve time for spousal abuse. He served time for punching a photographer. One of the several times he did it. But go ahead and continue to lionise him... Let's all live in the moment no matter whose pain and suffering (and let's be honest it's always going to be womens' pain and suffering) we have to ignore to do it.
