(13,776 posts)Even after Roe v Wade, you had to get permission? That is horrifying.
At least your husband was willing. I'm just sick thinking of all the women who will be coerced into pregnancies (or just have an unplanned pregnancy with someone they don't want to stay with) and will be trapped forever in a relationship with someone they don't love or trust--the alternative, for the ones able to get away, being raising an unwanted child on their own. Marital rape will become a foolproof weapon for men to use to control women once abortion isn't even a remote option.
It's so easy for people who are financially or emotionally able to raise children to make life-altering decisions for people whose lives will be kneecapped by having an unplanned or unwanted pregnancy. I cannot believe how quickly this country has spiraled into dystopia.
