The first tenant is a restaurant with asshole owners who would harass the other tenants use of parking space.
Well, after years of being there, that first tenant bought the complex and exercised some changes to rent and other things. The other four tenants were given 90 days notice, as in the renter's lease agreement. Not only did the lease agreement have a clause in there that if sold, the new landlord could exercise eviction on them --but-- it also contained an exit clause that the tenants could break their lease without penalty. The pastry shop was only 6 months into their new lease.
Guess what?
All four of the other tenants exercised their exit clause and vacated the premises prior to Day 1.
She closed up shop and retired from the service industry. The other three moved nearby. The new
owners were faced with an empty strip mall and no income.
