(10,048 posts)and the 1/6 committee is bringing a lot out in the public, the DOJ has to deal with courts and judges and evidentiary rules and have an argument for every defense they are going to throw at them. These investigations do not happen overnight and they are stretched by a lack of resources that Garland requested, but they intend to get the job done.
The committee is providing us with the story of what happened, they are not restricted by judges. We will learn the story but the DOJ has to put all of the crimes together and indict under the criminal statutes and make the case that is clear concise and will get a guilty verdict by whoever is on a jury. Just think of how many prosecutors and investigators it takes just to try one person. They have to get this right and we need to give them the time to do it right.
