Instead, when I encounter these Republican sales pitches, they come across as obvious bullshit that any person with a pulse should be able to see at once.

I’ve had a coworker for 12 years who’s as smart as I like to pretend to be, but she voted for trump twice and would “absolutely” do so again if he runs in 2024.

I asked why, and she said it’s because he’s a great businessman. This is objectively, demonstrably, and obviously false, but this intelligent person has decided to believe it anyway.

When a person makes the deliberate choice to ignore verifiable reality, it’s too late to “reach out to” them.
