avoid catching it (heard from a neigbor too that it's going around) but started getting symptoms yesterday, didn't sleep well last night, and woke up feeling worse late this morning.

I did pick up ham and cranberry sauce and other sides at the store a couple of days ago, but they were out of frozen pumpkin pies, I didn't want to make one from scratch, and didn't want one already baked since I love the smell of pumpkin pie baking early on Thanksgiving mornings. I'd mentioned that to my neighbor when I got home that day, adding that I didn't need dessert anyway with all the sugar in cranberry sauce, way more sugar than I usually eat. I didn't feel like stopping at other stores looking for the pie, either, since I was the only one who'd be eating it today.

She brought me a frozen pumpkin pie yesterday. Knocked on the door, then hurried away after leaving the pie right outside the door so I'd just see it (with her note written on the carton) when I opened the door. (And that way there was no chance I could give her this cold.)

Very sweet neighbor, and another reason to give thanks.
