24. Justice in the US has long had some hidden phrases.

For example, the justice system in the US works (for white people). Or, the justice system in the US is fantastic (for very rich people).

One of the things that bothers me is that many judges and district attorneys are elected, and DAs especially often pander to the voters by arresting and prosecuting people they know are not guilty. After the election, the person might be quietly let go or just sent to jail on flimsy evidence. When partisan politics, especially right-wing politics, takes over the administration of the law, real justice often gets left behind.
