Wrong, just like you are now in suggesting the same thing. This free air time only helps him with those voters that support him or may be inclined to support him and further radicalizes them. People that already know he is a dumbass don't need Example #1,626,679 of him being a dumbass.

This will only help him, as we've seen time and time again.
