(549 posts)I have said for a while that I know how the Rico thing works. Prosecute from the bottom up using the lower testimony to prosecute the bigger fish. Done in silence so there is less chance to derail the system. That said, In a way there is a lot of damage being done today with the big fish still able to roam the planet free from prosecution. And because we don't know the extent of the damage public opinion of him is still too high. There is also the problem of making it seem like the system is tiered so the powerful are shielded. But also the house is still full of Republicans that are still screwing up the system. The senate has big issues with collaborators also. I have said it before and have been flamed a bit for it but I wish it were a televised deal like Watergate was so we got most of the story in real time. It could have been over by now.
