To work with dignity & have your contribution recognized by society, even if you're a homemaker or a trash collector. To make enough to support your family & have leisure time, daily, weekly, & yearly, to spend with said family. To have access to affordable healthcare, education, childcare, & eldercare. To be able to retire before you die, with some comforts, not freezing to death in your house or eating cat food. To know if you break the law the justice system will treat you the same as everyone else, regardless of race, gender, religion, politics, or how much your daddy makes.

We were never perfect but at least we seem to mostly agree to work toward those things. Hopefully, we still do but that remains to be seen. Worldwide it's not looking good for democracy & as climate change brings more & more chaos, democracy will be harder & harder to hold onto.
