Snopes didn't bother to quote Trump correctly, but bashes Meidas for their reporting [View all]

Trump's not the only one whose words need clarifying here.

Snopes claims Trump said:

"We've been waging an all-out war in American democracy."

As myriad news orgs have reported, Trump actually said:

"We've been waging an all-out war on American democracy."

If you're going to slam this progressive news site for misrepresenting Trump, the minimum expectation should be that you post the correct quote.

Snopes did not, so I rate their slam of Meidas FALSE.

...here's Meidas, who made Snope's point right from the start of their reporting:

During a speech in Cedar Rapids, Iowa, Donald Trump inadvertently said something that most people would consider true when he appeared to admit that he is waging a war against democracy.

When you come at one of our strongest defenders of our party out there, you need to come correct. I've got ears, and Meidas is correct, as far as I'm concerned, and trump doesn't deserve a minute of defense on this.

I mean, WHO has said, waging war 'in democracy,' ever, in any context?

FFS, here he is in the past 24hrs:

Trump Reposts Article: "A Trump Dictatorship is Increasingly Inevitable"
The WAPO article, posted by Rep. Cory Mills, warns Trump could win and refuse to leave office

Give Meidas a break and tell Snopes to find better things to do than carry water (in their leaky bucket) for Trump.
