...and instead of thinking of old people, even though you specifically said the average age was 82, I really only thought about who those people were. It didn't dawn on me until the 4th paragraph, you were dining with older people. I've worked with the geriatric crowd long enough to know when it comes to mental sharpness, age really is just a number. I've seen people who were in their 50s behave as though they are in advanced dementia and people over 100 who were sharp as a tack. Age may influence their cognition, but it is definitely possible that age has enhanced their cognitive strength. It's hard to convince people of this because of the stereotypes, but we can always educate people.
