There are certainly Democrats there, and statewide only California and Florida had more Democratic voters than Texas. But a good percentage of the Republicans are extremely authoritarian. There used to be a saying that a New York Republican was like a Texas Democrat. Just like I probably can't imagine what it would have been like to grow up in a Democratic city where I was accepted, I think that many people can't imagine what it is like to grow up gay in a place where you are considered an abomination. But if they are correct and I do spend eternity in Hell, at least I will be accustomed to the neighborhood. And I will bet dollars to doughnuts that I will see many of those "Bible believing Christians" there.

So sorry! We've lived near fires & have been lucky but I have much sympathy for those whose luck ran out

Texas Panhandle with is basically most on the area from near Lubbock to the Oklahoma border
