(42,185 posts)41. numerous ways to achieve a goal
It's pretty sad that a good person has to fight like hell to do good things for kids in our education system.
It doesn't have to be that way. There are a lot of ways to accomplish a goal such as getting something for the students that you think is positive and desirable. I'm in education, too, and have been for decades.
Personally, I prefer other methods because I don't like stress and contention in the workplace. I'd rather form alliances, build up the favor bank, get powerful people who can make the decision I want to like me, etc. It's a lot harder to say no to someone you like rather than someone who is a pain in the neck. It's a lot easier to say no to one person than to say no to an alliance.
I don't like being a noteworthy person. If I write professionally, it's with a pen name. I don't want it to be about me. I want it to be about the issue.
If you're comfortable with those tactics, that's fine. It's only one way to play this game, though.

By providing your old screenname you've given them the opportunity to "out" you once again.
