Trump will stay on the ticket but his handlers will keep him as much in the bavkground as possible, considering it's Trump. Vance will continue to be the campaign spokesperson who does interviews and rallies.

If they pull off a win by hook or crook, Vance will be running the show, just like Cheney ran the show under Bush the Lesser, and Bush the Elder ran the show under St. Raygun. It would be possible for the MAGA backers to sideline the Orange Criminal after the election because, by election day, he will be so out if it that all they'd have to do is medicate him and prop him up occasionally for the public. Within the first 6 months he would be out of office and in a nursing home after a public announcement of some sort of debilitating disorder. They would never admit that his brain was mush.

But, I do not believe that he will win. The MAGAs will try to steal the election, and will hold up the results as long as possible OR will make a quick claim to win and try to take over, but will be pushed back down.
