(54 posts)We've got a full house of kitties (and then some), but we went through a stretch where we fostered for a local rescue. It was incredibly rewarding - we took in our first foster just about 5 years ago; she was maybe 8 months old but had such a serious demeanor. I still smile when I think about the first time I ever saw her actually playing with the toys in the foster room. She's moved across the country now but I still see photos and videos occasionally, and she is absolutely living her best life with wonderful parents and kitty siblings. All of which is to say... fostering is wonderful, rescues do heroic work, and cats make (almost everyone's) life better!
Congratulations on adding Steve and Johnny to your family. May they bring you many years of great joy and comfort.
