this is such good news in that swingy state!

Even as the national International Brotherhood of Teamsters is remaining neutral in the presidential race, the Pittsburgh-based Teamsters Joint Council No. 40, representing 14 locals and 35,000 workers, endorsed Vice President Kamala Harris for president.

It’s one of several Teamsters organizations nationally to do so, including the Pennsylvania Conference of Teamsters, which represents 95,000 workers, on Thursday.

“In the 45 years the PA Conference of Teamsters has been in existence, it is extremely rare to have a pro-labor candidate for president and a pro-labor candidate for vice president running together,” conference president William Hamilton said. “Kamala Harris and Tim Walz are exactly that team. Their track record on labor speaks volumes and that is why we are proud to not only endorse but support and work for the Harris-Walz campaign in Pennsylvania.”

Other Teamsters groups endorsing Ms Harris are located in Philadelphia, Michigan, Nevada, and Wisconsin.
