70 years ago, an aspiring despot was stopped cold. Who will stop the orange dicktater? [View all]
In 1954, special counsel for the U.S. Army Joseph Welch took down Joe McCarthy.
Who is going to be the Joseph Welch to tell the orange shitler to STFU, because EVERYTHING HE ACCUSES OTHERS OF IS A CONFESSION.
Tone down the rhetoric? He started a fire and poured gasoline on it.
I DOUBLE-DOG DARE ANYONE IN THE GUTLESS MEDIA TO CALL OUT THE CRUEL AND RECKLESS FELON FOR WHAT HE IS.
And during these hearings, McCarthy met his match in Joseph Welch, a calm but assertive special counsel representing the Army. On June 9, 1954, Welch calmly gutted every one of McCarthys accusations, frustrating the senator to no end.
McCarthy called one highly respected and decorated general a disgrace to the uniform; and then accused one of Welchs associates of belonging to a group that was the legal arm of the Communist Party.
Welch reached his breaking point and uttered the words that in essence ended McCarthys reign of terror.
Lawyer Welch utters the words that humiliate McCarthy, leading to his demise.Have you no decency, sir!
Until this moment, Senator, I think I never really gauged your cruelty or your recklessness, Welch said. Have you no sense of decency, sir?
Give me some Joseph Welch and Edward R. Murrow!

Smack him down and lock him up.
