Many Democratic Politicians (and DUers who wanted to be very unpopular) saw he appeared frail, and that his speaking was becoming more and more difficult to comprehend. Not many thought he was becoming cognitively impaired - at least I never did.

He was trailing badly in the polls. Covering the growing chorus from Democrats for him to stand down was the kind of thing the press lives for.

The fact is, Dems are held to a higher standard than Repukes. Harris becoming the nominee has worked out pretty well.

Do you not want MFer to stay the Repuke nominee? He's not going anywhere - no one in that party has the ability to dethrone him. He controls it from top to bottom.
