9. Ukraine had nukes until 1994 when the US and other nations persuaded them to give them up

At that time Ukraine was the third-largest nuclear power in the world.

In exchange for doing this, the US, UK and Russia promised to guarantee Ukraine's security in an agreement known as the Budapest Memorandum.

This agreement is worthless since the duplicitous Russians likely never intended to abide by it in the first place.

The US and UK bear a tremendous load of responsibility for the devastation and suffering Ukrainians have endured ever since Russia first invaded it in 2014.
