19. A statue for each of his character flaws might fill the Grand Canyon

John McCain co-authored a book called Character is Destiny. It tells brief stories about people who, in desperate times, demonstrated strength of character. I had a classroom set for my high school students. But now we see that, at least in America, character doesn't matter. Character is no longer destiny. Lack of any character at all has landed MAGA man in the White House twice. That ain't how it's supposed to work.

I keep trying to get over what happened on Nov. 5, but then I keep thinking about the multitude of sins this piece of human scum keeps committing, and I just get sick to my stomach all over again. When character no longer matters, what is left?
