I'm at the National Assembly building. The army is here. And I just saw two soldiers in fatigues getting pushed around by belligerent ajusshis. and they looked legit scared.

the soldiers look scared. not the old men.

a lot of riot police have arrived.

the opposition party is here in force and shouting for the president's impeachment

I heard tanks were here but I haven't seen one yet. old men swearing "how dare the military come here"

the crowd is a pretty even mix of young people and the older folks (mostly men) who would have been young during the dictatorship

unidentified man on loudspeaker announced national assembly voted to block martial law. everyone cheered and then the loudspeaker played the worst music imaginable. just the most based korean energy...

Anyway, here's her Bluesky account: https://bsky.app/profile/sarahjeong.bsky.social
