Day one, he leaped this same kind of giant leap backward, and each time rwjn get in power, they take our country another giant leap backward. It is like watching our country fall over the cliff and bounce over and over on the way down.

I was never worried for myself. I worry about every group that is vulnerable, all of the rights that were recognized and are now denied, the erosion of safety and security. I wanted freedom from that worry, but I won't get it.

I might not lose any freedoms myself. I have friends who might lose their rights - rights to a family life, rights to living and working in this country, raising their families here. I'm cynical enough to assume that even if they married when the Marriage Equality Act or Respect for Marriage Act became laws of the land, my LGBTQ+ friends may lose their spouses and children, my friends of different nationalities will be caught in roundups, my friend of color will be slaughtered with no care about their humanity. I can wear a safety pin and donate, and smile at anyone who might appreciate a friendly face. I don't know what I can do to make the U.S. once again identifiable as my country.

Having the person sitting in the oval office releasing 1500 felons is overwhelming and if any one thing males me fear what is in store, it is that.
