The Democrats have sent me four fundraising emails over the last three days.

Why the hell would I donate to a party that backs a CR defunding what they promised to protect?

The Democratic leadership is serving the GOP an appetizer: months of time to hash out what will likely be an omnibus reconciliation bill that will be the GOP's buffet—tax cuts for the rich and reduced government services and welfare for everyone else.

Now that they know Democratic leadership will fold at the mere threat of a shutdown—assuming the GOP doesn't have a budget bill ready in time—what's stopping them from doing this exact same thing once this CR runs out? What if it's Social Security or Medicaid cuts next time?

I reached out to my representatives, Gillibrand and Schumer—something I admittedly don't do often enough. I feel that that was a waste of time. The backtracking of Schumer's rhetoric of not voting for cloture to voting for cloture in 24 hours especially hurt.

If the plan is to let Trump-Musk destroy themselves, what use is it if it takes our Republic with it?

With all the god awful things that the Trump administration is doing, I was hanging my hope onto the Democratic Party to be the opposition party and today's display from leadership has dashed that. I'm demoralized.

We can't fight this with fecklessness. Today's actions indicate we need new leadership in the Democratic Party. Aggressive leadership. Until I see that, no more donations. My wallet stays shut.
