11. It's interesting to me that often leaders in the House and Senate aren't better communicators

Schumer, McConnell, Harry Reid, any of the various Republican speakers. I can't recall hearing John Thune as a public speaker. Oddly John Boehner when he was resigning as House Speaker seemed better, but probably that was the first time he got to cut loose. Pelosi was good at it until the last few years when her speech got a little worse.

I get that their primary job is around rallying their caucus, but I would think it would translate better to public speaking than it does.
